Claira Hollingsworth will represent Idaho at the Miss USA Pageant held at Baton Rouge, La. This year’s pageant will air live on July 12 on NBC and will be distributed internationally.
Hollingsworth will join delegates from each of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia for two weeks as she takes part in a schedule of fun filled events leading up to the exciting live network telecast. Contestants will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown, and interview.
Hollingsworth is a 22-year-old country girl who has lived in Idaho all her life. She recently put her dental hygiene education on hold to pursue the Miss USA title.
Although she has been diagnosed with scoliosis, she stays strong by working out at the gym and running to clear her mind and staying physically fit.
One of Hollingsworth’s most memorable experiences is spending two weeks in the Dominican Republic assisting with the medical and dental needs of the people there. “It was so rewarding to be able to make a difference in their lives offering services that we take for granted in the United States,” Hollingsworth said. This experience helped her to create her platform to teach Idaho’s youth about the importance of nutrition and exercise.
Her four key ingredients to a healthy body are good sleeping habits, physical relaxation, good nutrition and exercise. Some of her favorite things are Oreos, homemade chicken noodle soup, Disneyland, and football and baseball seasons.
